To sleep, perchance to dream.................

This isn't the first bed I've purchased for The Tenement.   I originally bought a double four poster but when it was in place it was pretty obvious that it was just too big given the amount of space I have to work with.  The answer was to buy a single one.   I went back to the lovely people at Ashwood Designs and asked if they could make me one identical to the double and this is it.

I've now had a chance to work on this bed and it's all ready to be put in place. (You can see the original here: Gladstone's Land).   Work is still progressing on the ceiling but until that's completed I can't put the walls in and there are a few pieces I'll be looking for at Miniatura on Sunday but I'm happy with the way it's progressing.

  5. You have chosen the best choice: this bed is as good as the other and takes up half the space that, in the dollhouse, it is always a tyrant!
    Fabulous linen :-)

  7. Beautiful bed Irene! I think we forget that people were MUCH smaller in those days.... even recently a "double" bed was smaller than they now are! I think it looks perfect! Your fabric is beautiful too! I can't wait to see it in place!

  11. Yes the fabrics are a visual treat unto themselves! They look historic and compliment the bed so well. Lovely
